We got to go to the diversity walk the other day, and it was such fun. We got t-shirts and at the end of the grueling one mile ; ) walk, they had pizza. The kids were in heaven, except when they had to actually walk! W spent his time in the sling. Nothing like adding an extra 30 lbs to my body for the walk. The day was beautiful and it felt good to do something community oriented. Here is the little blurb on them. Maybe there is one in your area!
The 7th Annual National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ of Arkansas) Walk As One.
Registration begins at 3:00pm. The walk will be followed by pizza and cokes for all registered walkers. Rep. Joyce Elliott is this year’s walk chair. The National Conference for Community and Justice, founded in 1927 as the National Conference of Christians and Jews, is a human relations organization dedicated to fighting bias, bigotry, and racism in America. NCCJ promotes understanding and respect among all races, religions, and cultures through advocacy, conflict resolution, and education. Funds raised at the walk will go toward supporting youth programs such as Anytown and Unitown, leadership retreats that prepare youth to make America a better place for all of us, not just some of us.
